We're a church seeking the transformation and renewal of our community—the city of Chicago

We believe we are called to participate in God's sacred work of creation, renewal and healing. To that end we are committed both to the spiritual growth and health of our community, and also to its overall flourishing.

Use the links at left for more specifics. "Our People" introduces our staff and leaders, while the other sections explain Ethos' underlying theology, mission and tradition.

Also, we recently celebrated our tenth anniversary. The video below, created for our tenth-anniversary celebration, helps explain a little about our history and identity.

What's an Ethos?

  • An 'ethos’ is the underlying sentiment that binds communities and cultures together. To change a community or a culture, you must first change its ethos. That’s what Ethos is all about.

  • Scripture tells us the good news of Jesus Christ is a force that can and will transform the very ethos of cultures and communities. We are being transformed by this power, and we also seek similar renewal for our city and culture.
